Our cost indices have been updated to
reflect construction cost activity in the previous
quarter.
MossCost routinely tracks changes in
various materials, labor and fuel cost markets and
monitors the effect on a number of construction
models. Now, as a service to our clients, this
exclusive information is available to MossCost Index
newsletter
subscribers and on the
www.mosscost.com website.
Historic cost data is no guarantee of
future trends and no construction project is identical.
We advise users to seek expert advice when budgeting
escalation allowances and market predictions for a
specific project.
Cost
vs. Price
... The indices are COST based and not PRICE based.
The indices take no account of fluctuations related to
changes in fee and profit included in bid prices
resulting from demand characteristics of the
construction market.
The
Cost
Models
... Cost data is presented in two formats: the
MossCost Size Index and the MossCost Frame Index.
Each is a composite of various building models and takes
into account principle materials, labor and
fuel cost components. Indices are normalized to
the national average.
